New County Markets to Be Constructed in Five Sub-Counties
Plans unveiled for five modern market centres to boost local trade and create jobs.
The Migori County Government has unveiled plans to construct five modern market centres across the county in the 2025/2026 financial year. The markets will be built in Uriri, Awendo, Nyatike, Suna East, and Kuria West sub-counties.
Each market will include modern trading stalls, cold storage facilities, ablution blocks, and reliable water and power supply. The project is expected to create over 2,000 direct and indirect jobs once completed.
